Global Laboratory Strengthening Expert (90-100%)

Job description

The expert will conduct laboratory strengthening activities worldwide. This includes (but is not limited to) provision of advice and training focused on strengthening professionals, laboratories, and laboratory systems and networks. As we work mainly in low- and middle-income countries, regular short missions are an integral part of the work.

Key qualifications

We are looking for a colleague with the following qualifications:

• A scientific education (at least MSc level) with hands-on biomedical or veterinary laboratory experience (BSc level or above).
• Experience in laboratory strengthening, laboratory management and/or provision of courses based on adult learning principles.
• Culturally sensitive with good communication skills and a sense of humor.
• A commercial attitude with an open eye and mind for innovative ideas and market opportunities.
• Prepared to travel frequently all over the world for short missions.
• Nationality of a country that is part of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. Resident in The Netherlands is an advantage.
