This course can be provided at request to groups of 8 to 20 participants and can be organized onsite anywhere in the world.
Management is a crucial, but often overlooked part of running a laboratory. It is, amongst others, a pivotal element in the successful implementation of projects such as the establishment of a quality management system. Many laboratory managers have the technical skills but have never received formal training in management and leadership.
This 5-day postgraduate course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required for the successful running of a laboratory.
As such, this course is designed to:
Teaching methodology based on adult learning principles
Successfully managing and leading a laboratory requires more than just knowledge. It also required the proper mindset, attitude and skills. This course employes modern adult learning techniques to provide participants with adequate competencies on all of these learning domains. Some examples of methodologies employed: role-plays, group exercises, mock assessments, brainstorming, etc. This way, the experience of the participants is optimally used to increase their leadership and management competencies.
This course will teach the necessary knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to efficiently manage and adequately lead a laboratory.

Prequalification
The course has a duration of 5 days and a workload of 40 hours. This includes training hours and time spent on homework assignments.
The course will be facilitated by two laboratory strengthening experts with extensive experience in adult teaching.
