Laboratory Strengthening Training & Education

Competent laboratory staff is the Achilles heel of the laboratory network and system: without properly trained and confident staff it is next to impossible to provide quality laboratory services. DATOS provides courses on laboratory strengthening onsite as well as online. 

DATOS designs, develops and provides courses. Our training methodology is based on adult learning principles. This means that each course helps participants to acquire new knowledge and skills through many interactive individual and group exercises making use of their own professional experience.

Training of Trainers

We offer most of the above courses as a Training of Trainers programme where participants are introduced to the theory of learning, the design of training programs and materials, and the practice of teaching, in addition to the content of the course. This way, participants will be able to disseminate the courses in their own network. Contact us for more information. 

Courses as part of our mentoring activities

DATOS offers several on-the-job courses related to quality management, which are usually provided as part of a laboratory mentoring process, but can also be provided as stand-alone training. Contact us for more information.

On the job courses consist of one central module:

• • Introduction to Laboratory Quality Management - Module of 2 days.

which can be combined with one or more of the following modules:

• • Managing and Leading your Laboratory - Module of 3 days.
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and document control - Module of 1 day.
  • Internal auditing - Module of 2 days.
  • Identification, analysis and resolution of complaints and nonconformities - Module of 1 day.
  • Laboratory Biorisk Management - Module of 3 days.

Mentoring other laboratories towards ISO15189 accreditation

Course of 5 days, can be provided onsite (worldwide) to groups of 6 to 12 participants.
For laboratory staff from a (nearly) accredited laboratory that wants to assist staff are from a (nearly) accredited laboratory and is tasked to assist other laboratories in implementing a quality management system.
